TeraGrid Wide Resources

The TeraGrid project was launched by the the National Science Foundation with $53 million in funding to four sites: the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) at the University of California, San Diego, University of Chicago/Argonne National Laboratory in Argonne, IL, and Center for Advanced Computing Research (CACR) at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena.

UC/ANL's TeraGrid cluster system is composed of 64 IBM Itaninum 2 and 96 IBM Xeon Visualization systems. Each node is built with SuSE Linux Enterprise Server "SLES8" and interconnected using Myricom's Myrinet network.
