The UC/ANL TeraGrid cluster has implemented IA-64 development and testing friendly scheduling policies. The goal of these policies is to make is easier for TeraGrid allocated users and support staff to run small IA-64 jobs with minimal delay during normal business hours.

Initially the policy sets aside IA-64 nodes between 8 AM Eastern and 6 PM Pacific for jobs using 8 or fewer nodes for no more than 2 hours.

Depending on demand we may tune the policy and adjust the total number of nodes set aside.

To assist in development and testing we will also install future versions of TeraGrid IA-64 software as early as possible.
